It's pretty hard to believe that school is in a few days and let's just say that I'd rather be outside with this weather than inside a classroom. However I've got a few essential tips so you can start s l o w l y getting ready for the year ahead and feel much better when it's nice and hot outside! These are some things I find helpful :)

1. Stay hydrated!

The weather at the moment is pretty hot, so make sure you drink HEAPS of water in the days leading up to school. Not only is it good for your skin, it will make sure you can focus better!

2. Try on your school uniform

This may sound weird but who knows how much you have grown over the past few months. If something doesn't fit now then there's still some time to buy a new shirt for example. Wouldn't want to wake up on the first day of school with a skirt thats too small...

3. Start getting into your school routine (aka sleeping)

It's going to be pretty hard to get out of bed during the first days of school if you're used to watching Netflix until 3am and waking up at 11 am the next morning. In these days leading up to school, start going to bed earlier and waking up earlier so it's easier, you won't look like a zombie at school and you will actually be able to stay awake during class.

4. Gather together your school essentials!

I always like to bring a few essential items to school, especially in this hot weather. So if you find them now, it's not a mad rush in the morning :)

My school essentials are:
  • A water bottle
  • Lip balm
  • Hair ties and bobby pins
  • Plasters
  • Panadol
  • A few dollars (always comes in handy)
  • Student ID
  • HOP card
  • Mini deoderant
  • Earphones
  • Sunscreen
  • Sunglasses
  • Tissues

5. Find your school bag

Again this will save some time on the morning of school. Packing it the night before school is also helpful.

6. Don't worry!
If you're starting at a new school or are simply stressed about the new year just be yourself and try you best at everything! Join some school clubs and you will make new friends in an instant. Set yourself some good habits for the new school year so you don't have as much stress. If you work hard the results will pay off!

7. Lastly, good luck and enjoy the year!
If you are a year 9 starting at college for the first time, I wish you all the best! And to everyone else-have a great year too!

Until next time,
